SENATOR GODSWILL AKPABIO AND HIS MESSY JOURNEYS IN ALLEGED SEXUAL HARASSMENT

Godswill Akpabio: A Compelling Case for a South-South Senate President ...

Senator Godswill Akpabio – Nigerian’s Number Three Man in Power: Handsome King of the Boys

The Guru apologises for this late release of this broadcast, because it is already Monday morning in Nigeria. It might still be Sunday evening across the Atlantic Ocean and other parts of the globe – where The Guru’s Monday show [0930-1100 hours] is being faithfully followed, The Guru wants the apology to equally be effectively accepted to all, please.

First and most importantly, The Guru owns it a duty to explain why the invitation to join Lagos Talks 91.3 fm later this morning is very important. It is because of the lingering exposition of the most dishonourable affair that is taking place at the Nigerian National Assembly.

No, let us be most specific – the unfolding drama is, for this time, at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly – the Senate. We can name the debacle at Nigerian today’s Senate as Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan versus Godswill Akpabio Mess.

This invitation to join The Guru early this morning may not have much to do with the suspension handed over on the beautiful Senator from Kogi State – really, there have never been shortage of beautiful female Senators in that Red Chamber from time immemorial.

From the first ever, the then Iyalode of Ibadanland; Wuraola Adepeju Esan, who was appointed to become Nigerian’s first female Senator, to the first Nigerian’s elected Senator – Franca Afagbua; a professional beautician, the place has always been adored with bevy of angelic representation.

The Guru is inviting all this morning to listen to extensions of Senator Godwill Akpabio’s defense of himself against the sins of sexual harassment against women. And he may be having more than one of such allegations against him.

In July 2020, Akpabio had the case of Joy Nunieh – then acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, to deal with, because that Madam told the whole world that she slapped Akpabio when the latter came “with plan B”. Godswill Akpabio did not say a word then.

Take note please, that was in 2020 – how many years ago?

Then came July of the year 2024, when a rumour broke out that the same Akpabio might be eying a very beautiful Actress, in the person of Dakore Egbuson-Akande. There was no word heard from our Distinguished Man of today then.

Then now – Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is now on the Podium, dangling the same stick of accusation.

Could the above be all the reasons that The Guru is inviting you to join him this morning at Lagos Talks, for the discussion? No, it is more than that. Permit me to give you a teaser of why the invitation is more serious and important.

Read the content of defense which the Distinguished Senator Godwill Apkabio; Nigerian number Three Man, presented to representative of Nigerian women on the event of the International Women’s Day, in Abuja, on Friday, March 7, 2025, below, as reported by the Media. The most important point in his defense is his preparedness to take Joy Nunieh to court anytime within this week.

To sue her for defamation of character probably looks more of the reason of defending himself on a challenge that occurred in 2020. Godswill Akpabio must be an early Riser indeed.

Join The Guru to have details of the actual things that happened between Akpabio and Joy, and even to the fact that he now linked with the late Abba Kyari – then Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

You are entitled to have all facts about the honourable life of our Distinguished Senator and the mucky waters of accusations on him in the past.

‘Sexual harassment’: How late Abba Kyari ‘influenced’ Nunieh’s removal as acting NDDC boss — Akpabio

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has claimed that the removal of former acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nunieh, was influenced by the late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

Akpabio made the revelation on Friday during an event held in the former Senate chamber at the National Assembly complex to mark International Women’s Day.

According to Akpabio, who was the then Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, his decision to remove Nunieh as NDDC acting MD was based on concerns over her credentials, which were raised by Kyari.

He stated that he received a letter from Kyari indicating that Nunieh’s credentials were questionable and that she had not undergone the one-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme upon graduation.

Akpabio further stated that he decided to remove her after confirming the status of her certificate from NYSC.

“When I received a letter from the late Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff, stating that her certificates were questionable and she did not do National Youth Service, I wrote to the NYSC, and the NYSC responded. So, I quickly changed her before it became a scandal.”

He also refuted the allegations of sexual harassment against him by Nunieh, describing them as baseless.

“As soon as she was changed, hell was let loose. She first said Akpabio wanted me to swear an oath of allegiance in the Villa, and they told her that the way the Villa is wired— The next thing, she came out and said, ‘He tried to touch me, and I slapped him. I am the first woman in the Niger Delta to slap him.’ So, Ruben Abati now said, ‘Is it like sexual harassment or rape?’ She said, ‘No, not rape, maybe something like that.’ He said, ‘Sexual harassment?’ and she said, ‘Yes, sexual harassment.’”

He, however, threatened to sue the former acting NDDC boss over the accusation, saying that crime never dies.

“My other sister, the one they sometimes refer to as Joy Nunieh, I will like to mention her name because she will be hearing from my lawyer anytime in the next one week. Crime never dies.”

In July 2020, Nunieh alleged that she slapped Akpabio in response to his alleged attempt to assault her.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV at the time, she said, “Why did he not tell Nigerians that I slapped him in his guest house at Apo? I am the only Ogoni woman, the only Nigerian woman that has slapped him. I slapped him because of his plan B. Since he couldn’t get me to take that money, he thought that he could come up on me.”
